Expanding Data Security with Close Brothers
Sean Callanan, Director of Technology and Services, said: “The arrival of GDPR has been a talking point among financial services professionals for some time now and the secure storage and destruction of customer data is becoming more important than ever. This new partnership with DataRaze is just one example of how we are expanding our data security processes for customers in preparation of the introduction of stricter regulations under GDPR.”
Steve Inglessis, Commercial Director at DataRaze, added: “The partnership with Close Brothers Technology Services is the first step on a journey to expand and develop the DataRaze service. The finance sector deals with some of the most sensitive customer data – from transactions to personal finance details – and customers need to be reassured their information is being stored safely and destroyed effectively when required. We’re thrilled to be working closely with Close Brothers Technology Services and are confident this partnership will prove beneficial for their clients.”
DataRaze is the UK’s only machine that provides on-premise fully auditable, physical destruction of critical data assets holding confidential information. The DataRaze unit empowers businesses to have 100% control over the destruction of IT equipment. Businesses receive evidence that their data assets have been destroyed in line with the highest industry standards.
Targeted at organisations operating in the Public Sector, Government, Finance, Insurance and Military/Security services, the DataRaze unit enables organisations to achieve a full ‘cradle to grave’ audit trail of their IT assets which store confidential data on-premise.
In house data controllers now have the capability to accurately monitor, police and report on data destruction. A number of DataRaze units have already been successfully deployed at one of the largest financial and payment cards company in the world.
From 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force across Europe. Therefore, any UK organisation taking part in business with partners/ customers in Europe – no matter the size – must provide auditable proof that they have securely collected, stored and destroyed any personal information. The Information Commissioners Office will be able to impose penalties on organisations that suffer a data breach up to a maximum of £17 million or 4% of the global turnover (whichever is the greatest) on those organisations that fail to meet the GDPR standards.
The DataRaze unit provides organisations with the assurance that they have taken every measure possible to responsibly dispose of their critical data assets, protecting them against large industry penalties and reputation damage. To find out more, contact us today https://dataraze.com/contact/
